The 2012 Hoya Golf Season is under way!

 

The boys won their 15th consecutive region championship at Bentwater on Tuesday.

They  were led by Sam Maryland’s 79 and Jacob Paquet’s 80. 

Both the boys and girls teams will travel to Augusta on May 7th to play for the state championship.

Some of our golfers had the pleasure of spending a Saturday morning at  Winnwood Assisted Living.

While it was a day to serve, we came away just as blessed as the wonderful people we served!

 LADY HOYAS REGION RESULTS

The Lady Hoyas defended their region title Thursday at Bentwater.

Allison Black was the region low-medalist, followed by region runner-up Hailey Willman.

This makes the 15th consecutive region title for the girls. Since the girls program started in 1998, the girls have won the region each season.

 

 

 

The JV Boys won the Central High School JV Tournament Monday.

The boys were led by Jack Mitchell who was the tournament low-medalist with a 3-over 75. 

 

On Wednesday, the Lady Hoyas defeated Walton 89-91 at Indian Hills Country Club.

The girls were led by Hannah Attaway’s career-best 44 and Allison Black’s 45.

Two days later, Hailey Willman posted her career-best 44 at Marietta Country Club to go along with

Allison Black’s 41 to defeat Kennesaw Mountain 85-113. Caroline McLeod also posted her career-best 48. 

The girls won the morning session of the Field’s Ferry Invitational with a score of 178.

Allison Black was the low medalist for the tournament (morning and afternoon) with a score of 4-over par 78.

Hannah Attaway contributed the second score of 100.

The Varsity Boys defeated Kennesaw Mountain by a score of 155-157.  

Matt McMahon led the team with a  1-over par 37 followed by Jacob Paquet and Sam Eanes each with a score of 39.

Evan Smith rounded out the scoring with a 40.

 

The Boys finished 4th place in The Cobb County Invitational Tournament.

Jack Mitchell led the team with a round of 74, followed by Sam Maryland’s 75 and Matt McMahon’s 77.

On Tuesday, March 27 the Varsity Girls defeated Kennesaw Mountain by a score of 84-112 at Brookstone Country Club.

Allison Black led all golfers with a 2-over par 38, and Paige Dilday added a personal best score of 46. 

The Varsity Boys competed in the Kell Invitational at Eagle Watch on Saturday, March 24.

The boys were led by Jacob Paquet’s score of 78, followed by Matt McMahon with a score of 79.

 The two-day North Georgia Invitational ended Tuesday with an 18-hole round at The Farm.

The Boys finished fourth overall in the event. Jacob Paquet led the Hoyas at The Farm with a score of 76.

On Tuesday, March 13 Matt McMahon led the boys with a low score of 82.

Harrison’s JV Girls came up a couple of shots short, but played a good match at Brookstone vs. Walton.

Harrison’s girls defeated Walton by the score of 85-86. Harrison was led by Allison Black’s 39!

Hailey Willman posted her personal best score of 46!

 

Allison Black and Paige Dilday shot an even-par 72 in the Jekyll Island Red Terror Cup girls two-player scramble tournament on Saturday, March 3.

The score was good enough to place them in 2nd place in the B-Division, and 7th overall.

Thursday, the Harrison girls faced Mt. Paran at Marietta Country Club.

While the Hoyas dropped the match by three strokes,

Allison Black posted the low score of the match with a 1-over par 37!

On Monday, February 27, the Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls and the JV Boys traveled to TPC Sugarloaf to face Peachtree Ridge HS.

The low score of the day for the Hoyas was Jacob Paquet’s 39.

Results from the Gwinnett Open for our Lady Hoyas!!

The Varsity Girls competed in the Gwinnett Open Saturday, February 26 in Winder, GA. The tournament scoring was a modified Stableford scoring system. The girls posted a score of 51 points and they were led by Allison Black’s 31 points, followed by Paige Dilday’s 10 points and Hailey Willman’s 10 points. Allison’s 31 points were enough to tie her for third place.

Results from the North-South Challenge for our Varsity Boys!!

On Saturday, February 18th, the varsity boys competed in the North-South Challenge at Vidalia’s Hawk’s Point Golf Club. While the South won the event, Harrison did have a good performance. The Hoyas were led by Evan Smith with a round of 76, Jacob Paquet’s 78 on the scorecard and Sam Maryland’s dramatic 10-foot birdie putt on the final hole to win a point for the North.
